How Codgenie handles your information
Codgenie builds websites and apps from what you say or type, and hosts the websites. This page explains, in plain words, what information we hold when you use it, why, who sees it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Codgenie is operated by BUDGETAPPSTUDIO (trading as BudgetAiStudio), Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Codgenie website (codgenie.com), the Codgenie app (app.codgenie.com) and the websites we host for you. It does not cover websites or services run by anyone else, including the people who visit your website.
Information we collect
- Your account — your name, email address, WhatsApp number (verified once with a code), a password we store only in protected form, and your sign-in activity. If you sign in with a Google account, we receive your name, email and a Google account identifier.
- Your business and your website — everything you give us to build the site: business name, address, phone numbers, services, prices, texts, logos, photos and videos, design files and links you attach, and the pages we make from them.
- Your app projects — the code and designs you bring in or connect (a zip file, a folder, a GitHub repository or a Figma design), the code the AI writes for you, and the test data your app creates while you try it. Private settings files, such as your app's own keys, are stored encrypted and are never shown to the AI.
- What you say to the AI — your requests, typed or spoken. Spoken requests are turned into text so the AI can work from them; the audio is used for that and is not kept longer than needed.
- Enquiries from your visitors — when someone fills a form on your website (name, phone, email, message), we deliver it to your Enquiries inbox and, if you connect one, to your CRM. We hold that information for you, not for ourselves.
- Billing — your plan, credits, invoices, and the business name and GSTIN you choose to put on invoices. Card and UPI details are entered with our payment processor and never reach our servers.
- Support — the tickets you raise, with any screenshots you attach, and our replies.
- Usage and device information — pages opened, actions taken, approximate location (country or region), browser type and the time of access, to keep the service reliable and secure.
How we use it
- To build, change, preview, publish and host your website, and to connect your own domain when you ask.
- To build, change and run your app so you can test it and download it.
- To process your requests with AI systems we run or license. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train general-purpose AI models.
- To run your account, take payments, send invoices and service messages, and verify your WhatsApp number — our team may also call or message that number to help you.
- To answer support requests, prevent misuse and fraud, keep the service secure, and meet our legal obligations.
- With your agreement, to send news and offers about Codgenie. You can opt out any time.
Who sees it
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Service providers who help us run Codgenie — secure hosting and content delivery, payment processing, message delivery, and AI processing. They may use your information only to do work for us and are bound by confidentiality.
- At your direction — for example when you connect your CRM or GitHub, point your own domain at us, or publish your website, which by its nature is public.
- Legal reasons — when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or us.
- Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may move as part of that, under this policy.
Information from your visitors
You decide what your website collects from its visitors and you are responsible for handling it lawfully — including any notice or consent your visitors must be given. We process it on your behalf, only to deliver it to you and to run your website.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and website information while your account is active. Every change to a website or app is saved as a version so you can go back.
If a plan is not renewed, we email you, and no sooner than 7 days after the paid period ends we permanently delete all your websites and projects: their pages, code, photos, attached files, AI conversations, app data and the enquiries they received. This cannot be undone, even if you pay later. Your login stays, so you can start again.
When you delete a website or app, or close your account, it goes offline and leaves your account at once. A stored copy may stay in our systems until you ask us to erase it, and we do that within one month of your request.
After any deletion, backup copies are cleared in the normal cycle. Invoices, payment records, credit history and usage figures (without your content) are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Cookies and local storage
The Codgenie app keeps your sign-in and a few preferences in your browser's storage. The codgenie.com website uses no advertising cookies or trackers. Websites we host for you contain only what you put on them.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored only in protected form, connection keys you give us are stored encrypted, previews run on a separate address so a website can never read your sign-in, and access inside our team is limited to what a job needs. No method is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us at once if you think your account has been used by someone else.
Your rights and choices
You can see and correct your account details in Settings, and manage your websites, photos and attached files inside the app. You can ask us to send you a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We answer within one month. Deleting your account ends your websites' hosting at the end of the paid period.
Children
Codgenie is for businesses and for people who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Where information is processed
We are based in India. Some providers we use may process information in other countries; when they do, we make sure contractual safeguards are in place.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters to you, we will tell you by email or inside the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
